“Clean Seas Against the Climate Crisis” underscores the urgent link between oceans and climate resilience"

Manila Ocean Park, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), proudly took part in the 40th International Coastal Cleanup Day held last September 20, 2025. This year’s theme, “Clean Seas Against the Climate Crisis,” highlights the vital role of oceans in building climate resilience and sustaining life on Earth.

The event brought together volunteers, government agencies, non-government organizations, private companies, and local communities in a unified global effort to combat marine pollution. Employees of Manila Ocean Park, under its “I Love My Ocean Planet” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, joined the cleanup drive as part of the Park’s long-standing commitment to protecting Mother Nature—particularly the country’s seas and marine biodiversity.

Beyond removing litter from shorelines, the initiative also supports ongoing research and policymaking that aims to address marine pollution at its root. By actively participating, Manila Ocean Park reaffirms its role as a collaborator with local government and environmental partners in pushing for sustainable, long-term solutions to protect our coasts and ecosystems.

“This is not the end of our commitment, but another important step in our continuing journey to protect and conserve the environment and wildlife,” said Manila Ocean Park management. “As a premier marine-themed park in the Philippines, we believe it is our responsibility to champion actions that restore balance to nature and inspire others to do the same.”

Manila Ocean Park encourages everyone—from individuals to organizations—to join hands in safeguarding our oceans. Together, small actions can create a powerful impact in the fight against climate change and marine pollution.
